Quit trolling your squad’s facebook group for anyone of the opposite gender who might be attractive.
Don’t lie, you’ve done it.

I found my love on the Race, obviously…
Just stop.
Sizing your brothers/sisters up that way before you even meet them, or even at training camp or launch, robs you of the potential to know them as fully as you could and as fully as the Lord wants you to know them – as your brother or sister FIRST.

I had to.
If you're trying to find your spouse and God’s gonna bring you and one of your squadmates together in holy matrimony sometime down the road – I PROMISE YOU, He will make it abundantly clear.
Just love your brothers and sisters the way they deserve to be loved: as your brothers and sisters, which is way thicker and truer and more valuable than infatuation, anyway.

Christian's Training Camp infatuation. True love? I don't think so.
And when your friends/relatives/acquaintances/random strangers tell you that you’re gonna find your future wife/husband (respectively) this year, smile and say thank you, and then forget about it because…
– prophetic as they may or may not be –
they are not Jesus (surprise!),
and Jesus has asked you to make a commitment to the race and that means submitting to the authority of AIM.
Sadly, the race documentation on your AIM profile has been updated since I launched, but used to simply begin with:
“Dating Policy: Don’t.”
(which I thought was brilliantly witty and perfect, and still think is a pretty good way to sum it up).
If you’ve been surfing the internet trying to find your spouse, try eHarmony or something…
If you wanna abandon everything you’ve yet known and dive deep into transformation into the incredible man or woman of God that you were created to be by living in intense community and being exposed to ways and conditions life that you don’t currently have a category for in your brain and mission opportunities that absolutely thrill you, go on the world race.
But don't confuse the two.
Plus you could end up looking like this at training camp:

or this on the world race:

and those aren't the moments for anyone to be "sized up" if you know what I mean.
it's just NOT the time or place.
If you're female, though, you can expect to get proposed to in Africa – probably more than once.
