I have this dad…
A dad that would do whatever he could for you…
One that you can depend on…if he says he's going to do something or take care of something, you never have to doubt it.
One that you will want to sit close to in any social setting…because he may not say a lot, but the one-liners he'll say that only you can hear will make the event a memorable one.
One that will make sure the oil in your car is always changed…and who never gets mad that you can never remember to 'keep an eye on it'…he just reminds you and then changes it.
One that will always make sure you are included in every piece of goodness he discovers…from smoked meat to a good dessert to an amazing restaurant to the picture in HD on his T.V…he will always let you in on it.
One who never gets mad when you eat his leftovers…he will only say: "Man, I wish I had some of that pizza…" and look at you and snicker a little, but never shows any ounce of anger.
One who will help you research whatever thing in life you're about to do…and he always 'knows a guy' that can help you in your venture.
One who will assist any dog in their attempt to say hello 😉
One who is one of the greatest caretakers I have ever met…from his mom, to his dad, to our blind cat, to a bird that ran into the window knocking it into shock…he will ever so gently do all he can to care for those in need.
One who will always make sure you know how pretty you look by saying, "Isn't she pretty?"
One who hates good-byes…so much so that you wonder if it even bothers him that you're leaving…but then he lingers…he lingers long enough for three hugs…and asks those last questions…then you know…you know he loves the heck out of ya.
One who says: "Hey darlin…" in a way that makes a daughter melt every time…and nearly cry when hearing it away from home.
One who is just a really great dad.
And who most definitely deserves a day or two that solely belong to him.
