Moms
Everyone thinks that they’ve got the best one
When, in reality, I do wink

One of my most favorite things about my mom…
Is that she shares…

She has let all her friends throughout the years pour into me time and time again.
In fact, she recommends it
She lets me go with her and her friends to the beach…and then pairs me up with one of them for one on ones…
She made sure I got to attend a bible study with them so I would learn how to cook, set a table, and how to show some hospitality (still learning ;))
She lets me go to all the ornament exchanges where more often than not, I am the only one from my generation present smiley
She encouraged me to substitute teach with the teachers she coordinates, and then proceeds to let me come to every event even after I’m not subbing anymore…because they're just awesome.
She let me attend her Sunday school class that was most definitely not for girls my age, and then let me go on a mission trip with them..without her.

Why is this a big deal?

Well, you see…she’s my mom.
And by living her life with an open invitation into whatever she is doing…
She enabled me to have many, many moms smiley

Moms that write me letters of encouragement and emails and comment on blogs and ask about me and send messages through her to get to me.
Moms that hug the heck out of me before I go anywhere out of the country with eyes full of tears as if I really was their daughter.
Moms that are completely okay when I show up in my pajamas to their ornament exchange.
Moms that might officially wear the title of “Aunt”, but have comforted me in some of the roughest of moments as only a mom could do.
Moms that will kill wasps for me because I'm terrified.
Moms that pray powerfully for me and receive me as their own.

So, to all my other mommas (you know who you are): You all have been and continue to be one of the biggest blessings I have! It's one of those blessings that just gets better and better with time, and I hope you each know how much I appreciate every word, prayer, hug, laugh, story, ornament, secret, cup of coffee, veggies and hummus, and quiet time that we have shared together. Love you all!! Happy Mother's Day!

And…to my Mama: You are absolutely wonderful and selfless, and I can't express enough how grateful I am that you allowed so many friends into your life. That, in itself, speaks volumes of who you are as a woman. Hope we make you proud…here's to you 🙂

Happy Mother's Day, Beautiful!
