Month One and Two, I made a friend.

A friend I don’t get to physically take with me to Month Three.

A friend who always greeted me when I walked into the room.

Who saved a seat for me session after session.

Who shared with me every good thing he laid his hands on.

Who let me talk on and on about Exodus morning after morning.

A friend who laughed loud and long and freely at my stories.

A friend who encouraged me to speak hard things when I was scared to.

A friend who genuinely cared about how my day went…in a feels-like-home kind of way.

A friend who turns the volume down on movies because he knows my ears are hypersensitive.

Who pops popcorn almost as good as I do. wink

Who brought laughter into mundane situations

A friend who would look at my outfit, and with great concern, ask: “Hmmm..are you coming with us?” smiley

A friend who is gonna do amazing things in the Lord…and will potentially be found in a coffee shop/bakery/record store/book store combo…wearing a blue hoodie…potentially with spider eggs on it wink

This was my friend. This is my friend.

Even though he doesn’t get to accompany me to Month Three, he’s left his mark on my heart and my squad.

Here’s to you, friend.

To running this race together, even when we’re apart.

Love,

Kacie
