The last few years…
July 2012: I left on a trip for 11 months thinking that I could change the world. I came back home with a bag full of experiences, a heart aching for those I met, and discovered that I was the one who had been changed
January 2014: I co-led a group of 40+ people believing that I could lead them through their brokenness into something real. I thought my previous experience would be paramount to helping them understand dependence. And then I encountered so many situations that I had no earthly idea what to do. It forced me into such dependence on the Father
September 2014: I’m co-leading a bunch of passionate people who love to dance and sing, who taught themselves how to play guitar and djembe, who love hard and laugh loud; who like to be heard. And I feel like I literally have nothing to offer.
Over the years, I have come to deeply value honesty and authenticity – Living in the Light. And I aim for it to be represented in all that I write, no matter how difficult or ill composed it may be.
If anything, let struggles and hurts, heartaches and disappointed days, celebrations and laughter and stories of the Spirit resonate with your heart and the journey the Lord has called each of us on. The intertwining stories and common threads throughout our lives carry more value than can be expressed. Hopefully, you’ll discover some common themes here.
If you’re looking for Jesus in the chaos and the pain, this just may be an avenue where you find Him.
For He is so faithful.
