So after much anticipation I arrived at my first ministry location….CHIANG MAI….Early yesterday morning we boarded a bus from Phuket, Thailand to Bangkok (12 hours) and then took a bus from Bangkok to Chiang Mai (10 hours). It’s funny how long bus rides are becoming a usual occurrence. It was nice though b/c I think someone had “pimped our ride” because we had TV’s with movies and video games (see below). We also received several meals and even some muffins with a green (or orange) mystery goo inside. Eating in Thailand is sometimes an adventure in itself!

Shortly after arriving at the Chiang Mai bus station, we were greeted by our ministry contact, Ray Ward. For
the month we will be staying and working with him and his family. They have been in Thailand serving the Lord for several years and have lots of experience with different ministries. In speaking with the Ward’s we will have a ton of opportunities to help serve refugees, and work at schools and in villages. On Monday we will be moving into a “drop-in” center which is located right by the Burmese border. The “drop-in” center serves the community by offering children a place to be safe, get a good meal and hang out during the day. Many of these children are orphaned, in gangs, or are fleeing Burma due to the violence and genocides that are occurring. We will be staying at the “drop-in” center for roughly a week and then we will be going onto several different locations throughout the region. Please pray for me and the team as we love on these children, most of whom are coming from tough situations. Pray that we have the words to speak and that our actions would reflect the LOVE and HOPE that is found in Christ Jesus. I’m expecting miracles J

Love and miss y’all…..more updates to come….
