Uganda Update!

Hello from Africa! 1 continent down! That’s insane…

So, here in Africa, we spent the first week in Jinja (Jeeenjah), Uganda. We were LITERALLY overlooking the Nile river! It was so cool. Our first week was squad debrief. Seeing everyone was really great.
Debrief always goes by too quickly. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing other friends, late nights playing Euchre and Nerts, amazing God-time, great worship, awesome conversations.. It was good.
My tourism bout for Jinja (and probably all I’ll do for Africa!) included a nature-viewing boat down the Nile to the source of the river and by far my favorite adventure so far: rafting the Nile! That was so cool.
Ministry in Kampala is by far the most diverse we’ve experienced so far. We are working with a church called Restoration Bible Church, doing things like door-to-door, hospital evangelism, prison ministry, preaching aaaaannd LOTS of dancing!
We’re staying with a host family. Please pray for our contact, her name is Jane and she’s a local. Her husband set up the connection to The World Race but he died 5 months ago. She’s still experiencing a lot of grieving and we are coming in to a very rocky time for her. We’re staying with Jane’s aunt, Robina and her family.
I’m not used to how forward the locals are about evangelism. They are very passionate about sharing the gospel, which I applaud. Because of this, there are many believers here, but the discipleship side of ministry is weak. So it’s very surface level.
Experiencing the evangelism that they are used to here has really stretched my faith. It’s an awesome experience to pray for strangers and tell them about the gospel. I’m NOT used to it at all! I’m excited to see what the next 3 months bring…
Keep praying for Jane, for our ministry, and especially for us as a team and everywhere we go. Spiritual warfare is very strong in Africa and the enemy is never oblivious. Thank you everyone who has been keeping us in your prayers, supporting my trip and being apart of this ministry. I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! :))

P.s. Wifi is more of a challenge here. Thanks for understanding!
