Ok, so I’ve kept you waiting long enough about Whats Next! Though if you’ve spoken to my parents at all (esp mom), they’ve probably already spilled the beans, but to the rest of you asking, “what will you do after 11 months of travel in 12 countries?” My response is: “How about 13 countries in 13 months!”
Let me explain….
One of toughest lessons I’ve learned this past year is the idea of really living out a “faith walk.” I think before I would toss that phrase around but not seriously considering how that applied to my life day to day. For example, last year when I felt the call that my time was up in the Medical Device industry, I really had no idea what my next step would be. A very uneasy time for someone who likes to know whats next. But of course, El Jefe (the boss) upstairs knew exactly what was going to happen, He just seriously delayed in filling me in. We all know what happened next, I embarked on the ridiculous adventure that is the World Race.
Well, about half way through my 11 months on the field, I started to have mini-anxiety bouts about what I would do when I got home… and more immediately what I would do for the summer right when I get back. People who know me best know I am a winter weather kind of guy and summer is probably my least favorite season. Go figure, I live in San Diego, right.
Even though I was worried about spending a long summer back in Cali with no immediate job lined up and dreading the post-travel blues in my least favorite climate, God remained cool as a cucumber (understatement of the year) and just continued to tell me to Trust Him.
Surprise, surprise, a door opened last month for me to not only keep this tremendous opportunity of helping others outside the country, but also in my favorite season, Winter! Finally, after 11 months of summer!!! So how am I spending this summer in winter…
On May 31, I will begin my journey to New Zealand for 2 months leading a team of college students to help them experience much of what I did for the past year.
Adventures in Missions, the same organization that puts on the World Race has a college trip called Real Life which I was accepted to lead. What better way to give back and pay it forward from this past years experience than to lead young adults explore their potential and broaden their understanding of the world and their giftings while serving others. I am looking forward to growing as a leader and mentor through this great opportunity. Plus the Lord just knew I’ve always wanted to visit New Zealand. I will be co-leading this team with another World Race alumnus from Texas.
So for Round 2 I am back in Cali for about 2 weeks before packing up and heading back to the other side of the world for 2 months. If you’re feeling any sympathy for me at this point about how little rest I’ll get or my scant time in comfortable California (which I suspect is very few of you), or perhaps you simply feel led to continue being a part of God’s global work through financial support, I will leave directions below on how you can donate… its very simple and of course tax-deductible. Whatever the case, know that if you’re receiving this blog, you will continue to receive at least 2 more months of blog updates on what God does with this fantastic opportunity!
My goal is to raise $1,500 to cover my most basic expenses for the 2 months abroad. You may give on-line through Credit Card or Mail-in check. Here’s how…
- Simply scroll up and look on the top left hand side of this page under my picture for the link: “Support Me!“
- Click on Support Me!
- There will be simple directions to either mail in a check or donate through credit card
- Be sure to indicate my full name: Justin Jue
- Please note, all on-line credit card donation have a 5% fee. So, lets say you are feeling quite generous and want to give $1000, well $950 will go toward my trip, $50 will go to Visa or MC. Ex 2: if you give $20, only $1 will be lost to corporate scum. (just kidding, I love my Visa card)
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you get stuck or have any questions. 🙂 I’m at [email protected]
I understand that most of you who receive this are previous donors, so please know how incredibly grateful I am for your support of my last journey! I am more interested in your prayers and simply keeping you up to date with what you helped facilitate this past year and how it is having a ripple effect on my life and those around me.
Sorry, this got long… But know that if I don’t see you during the short 2 weeks I am in town, I look forward to catching up with you when I return!
Be well…
I hear there’s more sheep than people in NZ. But don’t worry, I’ll be working with more people than sheep!
