“I used to think you had to be special for God to use you. But now I know you simply need to say yes.” – Bob Goff

I’ve been giving a lot of thought into how I want to answer the questions of doubt that will no doubt (pun intended) enter my mind as the Race draws closer and closer. Intricate arguments have been carefully constructed against the devil and those who don’t have a similar missions mindset about the world.

Now I’ve thrown that out the window.

I’m going. I don’t need to convince people of a calling God placed on my heart. So instead, here are some of the reasons I am racing around the world for Jesus:

God said go.

I have never felt a more lucid calling in my life. “Here I am. Send me.”

This is my dream.

Seeing the world and proclaiming Jesus’ name both keep me up at night. So I’m going to do just that.

Timing.

I am finishing up college in May and turn 24 in June, and I am in absolutely no rush to move into the professional world. It’s going to be there when I get back. Not the status quo. “Ima Just Do It” (KB)

Adventure.

I believe travel is one of the best forms of education. Seeing the world will teach you so much about yourself and the vastness of God’s creation. The more people I meet and cultures I encounter, the more I see God.

Commitment.

Summer of 2011, I said that I was going to go on the World Race one day. So I am going. “Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.” – Proverbs 16:3

I may not have all the details of my 5 Year Plan worked out just yet. But God does not call the equipped. He equips the called. I have total trust in Him and His call on my life.

I am going on the World Race. I get more and more excited every time I say it! But just as previously shared in my last post. It’s one thing to say yes. It’s a totally other thing to get to work. Enough talk though…
