If you’re like me, you are going through a tough season. And if you are like me, this entry is for you. I have been having some MAJOR family problems. So much, that I have been thinking about moving out for a few weeks before we depart. But God hasn’t given me the go ahead on that… and so here I wait.
My heart has been heavy, my mind has been distracted, and my thoughts have been filled with conversations that I make up in my head (you know how we do that… play a conversation that we want to have with another person, as if it would really go that way). I see what is happening here: Satan is trying very hard right now to get me down. He wants me to be angry, distracted, frustrated, and mad at God for the situation I am in. He wants me to lose my character before leaving for the World Race and be unprepared for what God has in store for me.
I refuse to let him win!! I chose God today. I chose to trust God, and invite any training that I need in order to be better prepared for the WR… Even if that means enduring this hard season. We learn the most valuable lessons in the hard times.
So tonight, God called me to seek a quiet place and spend a significant amount of time conversing with Him. I went to a location in my town called Tiger Hill. It is an old road that is high above the city, which provides an amazing view of Murfreesboro. I sat there pouring out my heart to God and He told me something, “You’re not alone”.
Of course! I am not alone! If this is an attack of the enemy, then surely there are others of you who are going through the same thing! I want you to know that I prayed for you tonight. I asked God to give you peace which surpasses understanding. Strength to weather the storm. Wisdom for deciding how to handle your situation. Provision for bringing in needed support. Joy for endurance, even in the hard times. Love for your family, friends, enemies, future teammates, and people who you have yet to meet in other countries. And last but not least, help. I pray that God helps you in every area of your life right now. I especially pray that He helps you resist temptation.
The enemy is on the attack. You are about to change lives and Satan knows that… He doesn’t like it one bit, so he is going to try everything he can to get you down. Be aware that he wants you to sin. He wants you to have regret. And he wants you to feel unworthy to be going on this trip. I want you to know that the enemy is full of lies! We are all unworthy of God’s love, but that is what makes His love so great; and none of us deserve to be going on this trip by our own merit. But, that’s what makes it so special. God is going to use ordinary people like us to change the world.
But first we gotta take care of everything at home before we can leave. Please know that at least one person is praying for you (And many more!). While I am praying for all of you as specifically as I can, I would love to get more specific. If you would like to respond here and share your struggle (the way the enemy is trying to get you down), I will write them all down and pray for you specifically. If you would like to be more private, you can add me on Facebook and shoot me a message. It made me feel better to know that I am not alone. I hope this makes you feel better too!
Be strong in the Lord,
Kaitlyn
