Hey Everyone!
So Beau and I were thinking a great way to get our church involved in our ministry would be to present a list of items that we would put in Kids Kare Packs and give out in Peru…or use for any kind of Kids ministries that we do!
I know that lots of people that supported us wanted to do more than just give money,and this was the way we thought we could do it! So, I wanted to present this list to you guys, that way you had the opportunity to get involved if you wanted too! Every item on the list will be place in a 2 Gallon baggie, which Beau and I will then put in an old suitecase that we have (or go to goodwill and buy), and we'll be bring them with us to Peru!
Yes, I know we will probably have to pay a fee to bring it, but I figured paying the fee was worth it if we could get our congregation MORE invovled than just giving money, because JUST asking for money was getting old for Beau and I…and we want everyone to feel like they can get in on this ministry with more than just money, even if it's just one item on the list 🙂
Here's what we came up with (and if you want to do it,but don't like something on the list, feel free to tweak it however you like!:)
-1 coloring/activity book
-1 box crayons
-stickers
-1 small toy (hotwheels, bracelets, bouncyball, rings, hair ties, etc)
-A few pieces of hard candy (Jolly Ranchers, Butterscotch, etc. As long as it doesn't melt, it would work 🙂
-Bar of soap
-Washcloth
-Toothbrush
-Travel Size toothpaste
-5 Bandaids (kids love these, and they could come in handy 🙂
Beau and I want to bring at least 30 with us, depending on what we can fit in our bag…
We will also be bringing along a couple of extra items, such as Sidewalk chalk, a Kickball, Construction Paper, Beads, and string…
I just wanted to let everyone in on this, just in case they were having the same questions in their church about other ways to get involved. I think it's a tangible way to get People invovled, and I also think it helps them invest in our ministries, other than financially. Completely optional, just wanted to open it up to you guys!
Can't wait to meet you all in just a few weeks! Hope all is well! I'm praying for each of you daily, and cannot wait to see all God does in us, and through us!
