Hello, my name is Julie Wivholm! Here’s a little about me…

I am 23 years old and grew up in Grass Valley, California, which is about an hour from Lake Tahoe. I believe it was here that I found my love for being in the outdoors. I have one younger brother John who just finished his first year of college at Washington State! Growing up we went on lots of family camping trips and vacations to see family in Montana, where both of my parents grew up.
Last June I graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California. I will always love San Luis and my memories here. I was blessed to live with four other girls who turned out to be four best friends. I graduated with my elementary teaching credential and got the wonderful opportunity to stay in the area for another year and teach at two elementary schools. My job this past school year was very diverse, I was an aide in a Kindergarten classroom, provided Language Arts support to 1st-6th graders, and taught PE! I have wanted to be an elementary teacher since birth practically, and am thrilled to find that I love teaching as much as I thought I would!
Some of my favorite things to do involve being outdoors. I love hiking, volleyball, running, camping, spending quality time with friends, and eating ice cream to name a few. Most of my friends can tell you that I dislike spiders and am cranky after taking naps or drinking too much caffeine, so I try to avoid them all. 🙂 After taking the Myers- Briggs test, I have found that I am a mix between an ISFJ and an ESFJ.
I am so excited about the adventure that God is about to take me and the fellow October World Racers on this coming year! Can’t wait to see the things we will learn, the relationships we will form all over the world, and the lives that will be changed!
