So here we are in Tanzania, Africa and we are still doing door to door ministry. Yesterday we went into a new area where the pastor has not had teams go before. We start to walk up to this older lady and she starts to walk away. She is saying that she is not ready and does not want to talk with us. We try to ask her name so we can pray for her but she is still walking away from us and will not tell us her name. She is on the other side of the yard at this time and we decide that it is best if we just continue on down the path to the next house. We thought her reaction a little strange but we just went on to the next house.
Later in the afternoon a young man joins us as he knows the area and can lead us to the houses. We tell him about the old woman. He is surprised and he tells us the She is the local Witchdoctor. We stop on the path right then and there and pray for the woman that ran away from us.
With this new information her reaction to us now made sense. You see we did not have to say anything to her for her to feel the presence of God in our lives. Although it is not a life goal of mine to meet more Witchdoctors it is a comfort to know that the God that lives in me is so much more powerful than anything in this world. That my very life shines God’s love and presence to those that I meet is an amazing thing and one I hope to never forget.
P.S. The lady with the pain in her side was revisited by some of my teammates. Guess what? She is really Healed!!!! She said that since the day we prayed for her the pain has never returned! PRAISE GOD!!!!!
