My life right now is in the mist of change.
The end of an amazing time in China and the beginning of traveling around the World for God.
It got me thinking about times in my life and in the Bible where the end of one thing was really the beginning of something better.
~Bible~
- Leaving Egypt for the Promised Land.
- End of King Saul, Beginning for King David.
- End of the Old Testament, the Beginning of the New Testament.
- End of the old Covenant, the establishment of the New Convenient.
- The “end” of Jesus’ life, the Beginning of ours.
- End of the Gospel just for the Jews, the Beginning of the Gospel for Us Gentiles.
~Me~
- End of High School, Beginning of Youth Leadership.
- End of three years of Discipleship, Beginning of Missionary Internship.
- End of Internship, Beginning of Teaching in China.
- End of three years Teaching in China, Beginning of the World Race.
- End of the World Race, the Beginning of……..???
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:a time to be born and a time to die,a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (NIV)
Our (my) lives are all about change. Sometimes we realize that things are changing and we become fearful.
“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God.” 2 Timothy 1:6-8 (NKJV)
I have been learning that even though change is hard it often brings about amazing blessings for your life.
Do not fear change but accept that God is taking you somewhere even better.
