Wipe Every Tear is the ministry we got to partner with this Parent Vision Trip.
I have thoughts I want to share with you about the week I got to spend alongside this amazing ministry but I first want you to know their heart and their mission.
Our ministry time included visiting their safe houses where the girls who have come out of the bars live in community with one another, its home. They have beds, food, love, support and go to school. They are vibrant! These young girls are no different than your friends, sisters, and daughters, they are incredible!
The other part of our time there was spent on Walking Street going into the bars. We were split up into small groups that included one of the Wipe Every Tear girls who had already left the bars on that street. They were there to translate when communication was hard and to share their own story …They have never been forced to come out, they weren’t even asked to be begin with – these girls excitedly volunteered on their own and now all of them LOVE to go back to the bars they have come out of and visit their sisters, tell them about their new life and invite them to leave.
One of the very first things we were told was to not speak the name of Jesus, AT ALL. We were told specifically to not share the gospel, prophecy, or really anything with church words. Wipe Every Tear comes from the position where they just love…they represent Jesus and they become the gospel through every breath and every motion. The gospel is good news and they offer these girls good news through offering them a safe and clean place to sleep, food to eat everyday, an education, love without strings…and they do it all at no cost to the girls. This ministry raises all their money in order to do this.
Even the girls who end up coming to live at the homes are never preached at or asked to pray some prayer…They just see the love of their Father lived out and they are drawn to it naturally. We got to worship with these girls the first night we were there…none of them were required…none of them had been told Bible stories or anything like that but they KNOW who Jesus is ..They know because they have personally met Him through this ministry …they have encountered His real love and that changes EVERYTHING. They worshiped beautifully and freely…open..raw…joyfully – it was amazing! There must have been at least 80-100 of us crammed into one of the small houses and I ate up every moment…These girls led us in loving on Papa God.
Wipe Every Tear has a very simple approach…they don’t talk about Jesus, the gospel or love – they live it. Futures are being rebuilt …hope is taking over…dreams are rising!
They have about 50 girls right now and their houses are maxing out of room but the girls keep coming and they won’t turn any away. Pray for more houses and finances to buy the new houses…pray for more girls to come home!
