Allie (my teammate) proposed the question as a joke: “What was the biggest thing you’ve learned from this?”
I was going to answer with some sarcastic joking remark but in a moment I came to a very real answer : “Keep Laughing”
So heres the background on what I’m talking about, just a few days ago I woke up at 3 in the morning sick…like no fun kinda in and out of the bathroom sick. That night I initially got up at 3am …again at 5:30am and then a final time at 7am at which point I just gave up haha.
There was this one gathering I went to, I think it was about a year and a half ago at a church in Snellville, GA. The guy was talking about some story or something about the enemy trying to touch lives or just being the jerk that he is and this lady listening just busts out laughing. She couldnt help it. Since then I couldnt get it out of my mind whenever the enemy comes at me … Theres just something funny about the enemies attempts when you know who you are and when you know who your Dad is and what that means.
Ive come to the conclusion that whenever the enemy is attacking an area its really just cause he’s scared of whats really there inside of us. He really is just shining a big spotlight on areas where Papas got amazing things but we tend to shy away because the enemy uses lies, intimidation, fear, shame, regret etc to keep us from going to those places. Im just coming more to this place that whenever the enemy touches an area, I want to check it out cause that means theres something there he doesnt want me to see or realize in which case its something of Kingdom and something good. What a sad bummer it would be to miss out on those things because we listen more to the bully than we do our Dad, Savior and King.
So to bring it back around a little… I want to be one that laughs when the enemy ‘strikes’ cause its nothing compared to my King AND because when he goes after those areas it really just shows me the places Papa wants to take me and bring further redemption, victory, identity and cultivate deeper relationship.
My teammate knocked on the bathroom door at 5:30 the other morning at the highlight of my sickness and asked me if i was okay and if i needed anything which was like super nice and just amazing (thanks Allie haha). Later in the day after I was feeling a bit better she brought it up and mentioned that I answered the door with a sense of humor …laughing as I was telling her about my uncomfortable state. She went back to sleep knowing that I was good. I don’t love being sick…it wasnt a good feeling haha but there was something genuinely funny to me.
If the enemy is going to come at me, which he is…its just a fact…he’s a bully and a jerk with the job of stealing, killing and destroying…but if he’s going to come at me, I’m not going to give him any room to intrude any further. He can’t take away joy and laughter…and when I stay in a place of resting in the goodness of my Father then it gives him no room to speak lies.
God knows whats going on in your life and in your world…I know parts of it but He really knows. Remember who He is …or come to know who He is because His goodness and faithfulness doesnt fluctuate based on the chaos of life. Keep Laughing.
What if we came to the point that every time the enemy touched us we just stepped closer to our Dad and came more into the realization of who we are? He would get sick of touching us ….
Man and I’m just in this place of awe again….my King is amazing…. I know Him and He knows me. Our King is amazing! Theres so many areas that He’s highlighted in my life that He’s just invited me to go deeper with Him in. Ive literally made a list of them because I haven’t gotten the chance to jump in like I want to but I don’t want to forget them cause on the other side is just more of Dad 😀
This life is one of joy…in all that we do there is joy to be lived out because He’s the God who fills up the entire atmosphere! He’s everywhere! Keep Laughing man…its so good! Im not even sure if this blog helps you understand what He’s saying to my heart completely on this subject but its my valiant attempt haha
Lets laugh and enjoy who He is in the middle of everything…. We carry the atmosphere of Heaven…of Kingdom, which includes joy and peace because the Spirit of God has made His home in us! We get to manifest or represent the one who lives inside of us in the middle of good times, hard times, bad times, chaotic times….all of the above …in everything! I want to be challenged to do that more and I feel like He’s handed me a very simple way to do that: Keep Laughing.
