As many of my friends and my family know, I am a prolific reader.  I have always loved to read, allowing my imagination to soar and learning all kinds of new things.  I am one of those people who can totally tune out people and noises when I get involved in a good book.  I am also one of those people who can get so involved in a book that I will keep reading “just one more chapter” until I finish the book or can barely keep my eyes open and the clock says 2 a.m.  RIght now I have a few books that I am reading and a pile of at least 10 that I want to read.  Yup…definitely a reader and one of the things that I miss most when I travel overseas.  ( I know, I know.  I should get a Kindle but I don’t like reading things on a screen. 🙂 )

One of the books that I’ve just recently started is titled Escaping the Devil’s Bedroom by Dawn Herzog Jewell.  I have just read the intro and the first chapter and already know that this is going to be an excellent book–one that will be hard to put down.  As I was reading through the Introduction I came across a convicting quote that really hit me hard…it is definitely a challenging question for me…and a challenging question for you.  So here it is.  I hope that it causes you to stop and think…and then take action.

“The issue is who wants them more.  Do we, God’s people, want these women and girls [and men] free more than the forces keeping them there?”
