First Things First
I have a NEW TEAM!! Our team is Rooted, and we chose this name to represent being rooted in Christ and the importance of having the Gospel rooted into the very essence of who we are as Christians. Psalm 1, and Isaiah 61, as well as several other passages were our inspiration. Our team includes Ben Gagne our fearless leader, Beka Fritz, Trey Genser, Crystal Adams, Natasha Ritsema and myself. I am already in love with my team and I couldn't be more blessed.
We also have NEW SQUAD LEADERS!!! Julie and Sage, our current squad leaders, will be heading back to the states after this month and they have chosen our 3 leaders to replace them. This group of people will take our squad to new heights and we will see Jesus even more clearly, experience more of God, and be able to spread the Gospel to so many places because of their leading. They are Jake Morris, Courtney Buckner, and Chelsea Hughes. We were fortunate to be able to spend a week with them at the beginning of this month and get to know each of them more. I am sad to see them go but I am excited that I will get to see them every month and hear how God is using them.
Malaysia in a Nutshell (For Now)
For those who don't get the title. Ringgit is the currency in Malaysia. Just a little play on words to open up my blogs for malaysia. This month we are working with a couple Peter and Carol in a ministry in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. They own a restaurant that some of our team have been working at, and we've also been teaching at a Burmese refugee school, working with a ministry to rescue prostitutes, going to street feedings, and finally ministering and preaching in villages.
Kuala Lumpur is an AMAZING city (Look up the Twin Towers and you'll get a picture of what I mean.) I was truly surprised to find it built up and industrialized in so many ways. We have Starbucks, McDonalds, and every kind of shopping place imaginable right at our finger tips. When we need to use the internet we will usualy go to a restaurant with wifi or to starbucks. The striking thing is how different it becomes once you travel outside of Kuala Lumpur (which takes a while, as the city is HUGE!!) and to the villages. We passed picturesque mountainscapes, and travelled through places overgrown with Palm Oil Trees, and saw goats and chickens every where.
My favorite part of this month has been the worship of the Malaysian people but that'll come with another blog soon to be written.
All I Have Need of His Hand Will Provide
I don't like to mention this frequently but I don't want to get to that point on the trip where I only have a week left before the final fundraising deadline. I want to THANK EVERY person who has given financially or has prayed for my squad and I as we journey around the world to change lives.
That being said, I am still in need of about $3,700 to be FULLY FUNDED. I have seen how God has provided for the rest of my squad in amazing ways so that our squadmates could meet the previous deadline, and I know that God WILL do the same for me. Any needs that I have were met when Jesus died on the cross, so how will He not also provide all other things. If you has mentioned previously that you would like to give, would you pray about helping me on this journey? Any amount would be greatly appreciated and I am already SO blessed. I know that God has me here for a purpose and His work through me is not yet done. By the end of June I need to have the rest of the money either in my account or pledged to be given.
