Check out this story!!! So cool!
The week had been a bit exhausting by then, but I was expecting God to do something cool. I just didn’t know what it would look like. Around 10 pm Wednesday night, I felt the Lord say, “Julie, go outside and pray.” It was like this invisible pull to walk around the hospital in the dark, pray, and worship.
I will NEVER forget that night. While walking around the perimeter of the hospital from 10 to 11 pm, with my iPod playing some classic Jesus Culture and Will Reagan, I FELT the presence of the Lord that night. The Holy Spirit prompted me heavily to intercede for the hospital, the patients in the Recovery Room, specific people on our medical team, and health and energy for the week.

There is only a few other times in my walk with the Lord that I have so heavily felt the Holy Spirit in and around me, and it is incredibly, incredibly beautiful. And, because the Lord is that awesome, the next night, Zonna and Michelle unknowingly confirmed it all. They told me that around 10:30 pm that night, they felt the Holy Spirit in the Recovery Room, and there was a peace and tranquility in that room that was supernatural. Yup, God is good. Amen?!

April 11th – Day 4: Night shift in the Recovery Room
Let me tell you, I was not looking forward to beginning my shift at midnight! Night shift has never been my preference, so you know I prayed for an hour before beginning my shift that night! And why not ask the Lord to drench that room in peace again?!
That shift was my most memorable of the trip! Although my specialty is pediatrics, most of the patients we cared for were the adult and elderly populations. However, I had prayed the Lord would let me take care of some small pediatric patients because I dearly miss the joys of pediatric nursing.
I got what I prayed for. When I came on shift, I got to take care of a sick, underdeveloped kiddo with special needs who had undergone a minor surgery that evening. He wasn’t a huge fan of his OR anesthesia and pretty much was one-to-one nursing care from respiratory complications, bringing me back to my days of high-acuity care at Children’s. The Lord gave me supernatural energy for that night, a great team of people to work with, and an opportunity to love on a sick kiddo!
April 12th – Day 5: Afternoon/evening shift in the Recovery Room
Rounding out the end of the week with minor surgeries (dermatology and ophthalmology procedures)! I finally get my flow down and it’s time to leave!

The final blog, part 3, will be finished tomorrow!
