Guess who gets to be a “real” nurse again?! Through a huge divine appointment and the blessings of an amazing family back in Dallas, I get to partake in my first international medical mission via HELPS International (website: http://www.helpsintl.org)!

On Sunday, April 7th, a medical/surgical team and a stove building team are driving to San Cristobal in the rural mountains of the Alta Verapaz region. The team is comprised of general, OB/GYN, dental, plastic, and eye surgeons, as well as anesthesiologists, general medicine physicians, and RNs for the OR and recovery rooms. We’ll be doing surgeries and practicing general medicine all day from Monday, the 8th to Saturday, the 13th.

Please keep us in your prayers as this time will be physically, emotionally, and mentally challenging, but I’m stoked to see how the Lord is going to touch so many lives! It’s been awhile since I’ve formally practiced nursing, so pray the Lord has His hand in all of it!

I’m fairly certain there have been World Race missionary teams in the San Cristobal area, so it’s no coincidence the Lord has allowed me to be a part of this. I can’t wait to meet so many of “the least of these” and pour out God’s love, grace, and healing over them.
