For those of you who don't know, for month 2 of the race I was in Oradea, Romania! I am terrible at blogging I know and I'm so sorry! My team and another team worked at Communal Felix. An orphanage that is not your typical orphanage. This orphanage has several different homes that each house 12 kids. Each set of kids have their own parents. It's such a beautiful idea that seems to be working well. I loved getting to be a part of it.

I want to introduce you to my best friend from the month. There always seems to be at least one kid who absolutely captures my heart. Month 2 it was a boy named Tony. He is 7. You may be curious as to what the title is about? Well one of my lovely teammates got this song stuck in my head for the majority of the month and it sort of became a theme song for sweet Tony. You know the song for frosted flakes?

Hey Tony! I like the things you do. Hey Tony! If I could I would be you….

And so on. Not important, but this song was literally stuck in my head all month and I sang it to him often. When no one else was around of course.

Back to the story. So almost every afternoon we walked over to the two houses we were working with. One house had really young kids so a few girls would go over there and play inside. Tony was the youngest at his house and all his older siblings always played soccer. Well I am not a big fan of soccer so of course I decided to play with Tony and a few others not interested in playing. Don't get me wrong, I loved ALL the kids there. They were all so sweet and wonderful but Tony…he did something to my heart. And I want you to meet him.

Tony had a fascination with hair.  He really enjoyed fixing my hair for me multiple times every day.

One day he painted my nails. Lucky me!

We made cheerio necklaces and made animal puppets.
We played on the swings and in the sandbox.
And so much more.

Tony was my buddy. He remembered my name after one day and I knew right then that we would be bff's. I looked forward to seeing him everyday. Sometimes he got a little demanding but I couldn't help but just love him. God teaches me a lot through kids and I am so thankful for that.  Even if I only made a difference in one life during this month…it was totally worth it! I miss that kid.

p.s. I'm really behind in blogging. Right now I'm India…more to come!
