Dear Family and Friends,

I hope this letter finds you well and full of life. As many of you know, I’m preparing to embark on a missional journey that will take me to 11 different countries. Quite honestly, it’s not something I ever anticipated doing (not in this capacity anyway), but God’s calling on my life has become increasingly clear over the last three months.

In 2009, He affirmed that my ministry would involve girls and young women- particularly the lost and broken. Since then, Isaiah 61 has resounded in my heart, and my desire to aid those trapped in human trafficking situations has been on a steady incline. In 2010, I began asking the Lord to prepare my heart and guide me in helping the least of these, and recently, I received a simple response: “Come, follow me into the world. Let me show you how to love. Let me teach you grace. Surrender your control. And trust me.”

His love and grace in exchange for my control and trust? Deal.

So, here I stand, stripped of most of the things I’ve worked to obtain and thrilled to finally be placing my entire existence into the hands of my Father. For 11 months, I’ll serve as a missionary through Adventures in Missions, an interdenominational Christian organization that focuses on raising up disciples of Jesus Christ, in its World Race program. I’ll travel with a squad of 60-70 people to Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Romania, Ukraine, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia to partner with churches and ministries in local communities.

Through prayer and relationship, we’ll preach the Gospel, plant and build churches, work in orphanages and hospitals, minister to enslaved women and children, and bring the restoration and hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.

Typing this letter has caused me to really consider this opportunity- the challenges and the possibilities that lie ahead. And I’m filled with peace and gratefulness, knowing that He will provide support and safety according to His glorious riches in Christ… knowing that He who began a good work will carry it on to completion… knowing that He is good and faithful.

If you feel called to support me in this mission, financially and/or prayerfully, I’d be delighted to speak with you more about my story and AIM. I must raise $15,500 to go on the World Race, and the money will cover all of my travel, lodging and living expenses while in the field. For your reference, I listed my fundraising deadlines and some prayer requests below.

I’m so excited to see how God is going to move in my life and the lives of others in the coming year. An unworthy sinner, I can only pray that He’ll use me for His glory in this world. I want to thank you in advance for your support… any and all you lend is deeply appreciated.

In Him,

Julie
