I won’t lie, I have a list of reasons to complain about our current environment.

It’s over one-hundred degrees with no way to get cool.
There is mud. Constantly.
I slipped and fell out of the shower and severely bruised my arm in the fall.
Don’t even get me started on the bugs constantly swarming us or the lethal reptiles that have yet to make an appearance but are potentially lurking around every corner the second the sun sets…

I’ve even fallen into the pattern of complaining every single time my hurt elbow touches a wall or a person (because we are constantly surrounded by each other -including body heat and smells of sweat and tears).

However, as all twelve os us sit/lay on the tile of our apartment made for six, trying desperately to savor every breeze blowing through our mosquito netted windows, I have found peace.

Ministry in Mozambique is simple so far. Pray for the sick. Love on the elderly who are suffering ailments like blindness and arthritis. Play with the children after ministry hours… Be the church.

So while this tile beneath our sweaty bodies gives us little relief from the heat, I am so thankful that I am currently in Mozambique, Africa watching Christ change our hearts by using us to uplift the spirits of our community. I’m so grateful that these ladies, teams Daughters of Grace and Ignite are the ones I get to spend my month melting with.

Pictured:
Mama Malina is almost completely blind. We stopped by her mud hut to pray healing over her last week. She was able to see the colors on my scarf and I cannot express to you the joy found on her face when I gave her the scarf as a reminder of God’s colorful love for her.
