In Mozambique, I was told by a former racer, Brian Cooke, that The Lord was going to show me the meaning of True Joy this year.
God is fulfilling that word in absolutely thrilling ways.
True Joy is not based any single circumstance. It is based in the reality of who God is, despite a needy and anguished world.
True Joy intercedes for all those around, even its enemies.
True Joy laughs in the face of adversity. It is unstoppable. It can't be quelled. It can only gush forth bringing with it freedom and blessing others in the process.
True Joy is unparalleled. Happiness is a faint substitute…only a distant relative.
True Joy points people to Christ even in the midst of trouble. It isn't always laughing, but it does always bring peace to the ones who have it. It's a peace that passes all human understanding.
True Joy boggles the flesh and ignites the Spirit. It is the fruit of living an abundant life in the Spirit.
True Joy is not how you feel, it is a part of who you are.
True Joy is unbridled, unburned, fearless and free.
True Joy accompanies True Love and God is True Love.
