I’m Home In the Philippines !!!

I fell in love with the Philippines the moment I got here. I feel so at home here. I know that God is going to break my heart where he wants me. I want to be a missionary for the rest of my life, well at least in this season of my life that’s how I feel. My heart isn’t broken yet, but there is something about this country that I haven’t felt yet on the race until now.

This month we are working with Kids International Ministries (KIM) in Manila, Philippines. Manila is a home to approximately 200,000 street kids. Children come to KIM for a variety of reasons; some have been abused, neglected or abandoned.  They help meet the needs of abandoned children and the poor by “showing” them the Gospel in action.

Our ministry this month has many different facets. We have several different things that we can do to help the community and KIM. Ministries include: feeding programs, building homes for a community that is filled with shacks made out of almost anything, working in the nursery, praying for the sick and dying in the hospitals, jail ministry, evangelism with local pastors, leading worship, speaking at basketball events, and much more.

Jeff Long and his family founded and run KIM minitries here in Manila. They orchestrate where we can be of use to the community and put us in places where our gifts can be used the most. We picked three ministries we would be interested in and turned them in to Jeff so he can put us to work. We have room to change our ministries if we want to do different things or want to try something new. I chose to do: jail ministry, pray for the sick and dying in the hospitals, and construction.

Thank you for all your prayers and your support!!! Pray that we will be obedient to God’s calling this month where ever He is leading us. I want to go deeper in my relationship with God more than ever. Nothing else matters. I want to be an obedient son and only do what I see the Father doing. God bless you and keep you!!! Jesus is Lord!!!!
