I woke up one morning and went into the kitchen to get some coffee and to do my morning Bible reading. As I was praying, I asked God to help me be a servant of love. I wanted to live up to our team name. I had the idea to cook oatmeal for the team, so I made a huge pot figuring that everyone would be hungry. As I was cooking, Tara came in and asked who I was cooking for, and I said, “Everyone.” She then told me that no one was eating, because they were all fasting. Crazy thing was that I was also fasting. So here we have all this oatmeal and no one to eat it.
We had morning team prayer shortly after that. Tara and I both had the same word from the Holy Spirit, that we need to feed the homeless. We went out and bought some small tupperware containers to make it easier to give out to people. We then put together a bag of canned food: grapefruit, apricots, and beans to go along with the oatmeal. As we were about to head out to walk the streets of Bray, Ireland, Bethsaida came to pray and bless us, that we would be led by the Holy Spirit to the people that need the food and the Word we had for them.
“But Jesus answered him saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'” Luke 4:4 (NKJV)
We started walking down the street and came across a guy that was sitting on the sidewalk begging for money. We came up to him and asked if he was hungry and quickly his reply came, “Yes!” We sat down and handed him all the food we had for him and said, “This is from God,” as we pointed to the sky. With eyes wide and a smile on his face he said, “Thank you, Thank you,” with what little English he knew. He was from Hungary and spoke Hungarian, but knew a bit of broken English.
Tara and I spoke to him about God’s Love and Grace and His precious and wonderful Son, Jesus. I told him all about Jesus and how much He loves us, specifically, how much He loves him. He nodded his head and smiled and said, “Yes, yes, yes!” I then asked if we could pray for him and bless his food. He nodded and then bowed his head. We poured out prayers of praise and thanksgiving to the Lord. We prayed that the man would recieve Jesus in his heart even though we knew he couldn’t understand half of what we were saying. We blessed him and went out to feed more people.

We ended up feeding 5 more people with the food we had. It was so amazing how God led us to each person. It wasn’t coincidence the people that we came across to feed, pray with, and bless. We saw a man on the street who was barefoot, sitting on the sidewalk, and had his shirt over his legs trying to stay warm. He was shaking from the cold. Immediately Tara said, “We need to help him, he needs clothes.” We ran back to the house and grabbed whatever clothes we had to give. We both had to die to ourselves and give up some of our own clothes and gear. We ran back to him and gave him a pair of pants, some socks, and a sleeping bag. He lit up when he saw all the warm clothes and sleeping bag. We tried to give him food, but he didn’t want it. His friend ran up from behind us and said, “Food?” I handed him all the food and he couldn’t stop saying thank you. We blessed them and told them that all of the food and clothes were from Jesus, the Son of the Living God. They smiled big and nodded their head.

It was such a blessed and amazing day. We were able to feed the hungry, share God’s Word and Love with the lost, and to clothe the poor. We gave God all the Glory and told each one of them that it was not from us but from God. Thank you God for allowing us to be a part of what you are doing in the world. You have blessed us far more than we could ever imagine or deserve. You truly are an amazing and Glorious God!! All Praise, Honor, Glory, and Power be to You Lord Almighty!! Jesus is Lord!!!!
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set liberty to those who are oppressed;” Luke 4:18 (NKJV)
