Tuesday we found out our ministry. Team Sol is with Pastor Salanda. She is an amazing woman of God. I was actually praying that our team would be with her and we ARE!!!! We are going to be doing VBS, encouraging new believers door to door in the neighborhood, and leading worship. The community we are in is Quij’a Quieta. It is about 2 miles maybe 3 away from the house we are staying in. I have been learning Spanish so that I can speak to the people myself, trying to use an interpretor as little as possible. I have learned, God Bless You – “Dios te Ven Diega” and Jesus Loves You – ” Jesu’ te ama”.

We start our ministry in the morning at 9 till about 12 then go eat lunch and take a nap or have relaxing time then we go to worship at the church at 7 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays. Our team is split in half 4 doing VBS (Bethsaida, Caitlin, Mari, and Jeff) and 3 going door to door encouraging believers (Tara, Alexandra, and Me).

As we went door to door we met a woman named Colessa that we felt called to. She was very skinny and had almost no muscle on her at all. She had her ankle wrapped in cloth and after talking to her for a while we found out that she has a tumor or a growth forming on it. We asked if we could pray over her and she was overjoyed with excitement. We prayed for her for what seemed like 5 mins which was in actuallity 30 mins. She was so full of life. She glowed. She praised God and gave Him all the Glory. She was so passionate. After talking to her for several more minutes we found out that she was 107 years old!!!!!! She is in better shape than my 83 year old grandma! I would be shocked if she didn’t live another 10 years! I mean it! She  has so much life in her to be as old as she is. God has truly blessed her!!
