Well. Another month has passed. I can't believe it is month six!!! I now realize how quickly time goes by when you are having fun:) This journey has been so incredible! I am so excited to see what else is in store. We have one more month in Europe (which I have LOVED) and then off to Africa (ahhhhhh!!).
I am trying so hard to remember each person I have met. I don't want to forget them. It is hard because I want to be fully present where I am, so naturally I connect with people who I am surrounded with. I have enjoyed making friends around the world. I just want to make sure I remember all who have made me smile!
My Bulgarian friends I will miss are Petko, Mladen, Oggie and his wife, Pastor Ivan and his wife, our cook Norca, Jifco, and all of the pastors we met along our way. I hugged so many kids and sat and "talked" with them. I will remember sitting on the sidewalk holding a little girl who was starving and crying. I held her and gave her some water and bread. I will remember all of the kids trying to get as close to me as possible. In fact, I once had 4 kids holding on while walking down the street. I will remember Costa who wanted to do nothing but have me hug him. He wrapped his arms so tightly around me. I will remember Svetla, a 10 year old girl, who would run up to me and grab hold of me. I will remember how she said "I am Svetla" and then point to me and say "I am Julia." She introduced every kid to me in that same way. I will miss all of the kids who were so happy just to be around us.
Bulgaria was an incredible month. It will definitely be one of my favorite months. I was blown away with the beauty of the land, the generosity of everyone, the hunger for the Lord that the people had, and all of the smiles and hugs that the kids had for us. I LOVE MY LIFE!!
