Over the past 15 months, I have had the opportunity to spend most every day visiting my 90 year old grandma. Often times I would sit and watch her use her iphone to send out daily texts to my cousins to encourage them. I would sit in disbelief that she was texting-seriously, it never got old! I was awed in how in tune she was with the Lord and how she would get verses for people. I soaked up every ounce of wisdom she shared with me. I saw her love for God in such a new way spending each day with her. I will never forget each moment I spent with her. I have learned how to be a godly woman and fully depend on the Lord. I always joke with her about having Jesus on speed dial…they are in constant communication. So, when I wanted confirmation about going on the World Race, I thought of one person who could help me. I had talked with my parents and and had felt that this was something I wanted to do. I came to her and she encouraged me to ask God for a scripture. I prayed and asked God to show me. Matthew 5:16 came to my head. I didn’t know for sure if it was “my verseâ€� or not. That day I opened my youversion app on my phone and guess what? Matthew 5:16 was the verse of the day. Coincidence? I think not. Sadly, I still needed confirmation. I was looking at a blog of someone off the world race webpage and sure enough, at the bottom of her page, she quoted Matthew 5:16. So, after 3 times I finally believed that God had truly given me a verse of confirmation. I was so happy to go and report back to my Grandma…she then helped me believe this is what God had in store for me.
