After a few rounds of forming different teams together at training camp, AIM staff prayerfully picked our teams and I am so blessed to be a part of team JoHoLo (short for Joy, Hope and Love), the spunkiest, happiest, most creative team ever. So who cares if all of us have A.D.D and can`t seem to stay focussed during breakout sessions – this team knows how to have fun, that`s for sure. But just before you think we`re a bunch of goofballs, which we are, there is also a serious side to each of us. This blog is a tribute to my teammates, that will watch my back and whose back i will cover, for the 11 months while we are together and thereafter. These are my brothers and sisters who will see the best and worst of me, we will experience joy, pain, suffering, sadness together. In fact we actually have experienced some pretty intense emotions together, even in the short 3 days that we bonded as a team. 7 lives came together united by 1 spirit and our journey together will begin soon….
From Left to Right ( Casey, Drea, Erin, David, Julia, April with sunglasses in front, Grant with sunglasses in front)
Casey and Erin are our leaders. Casey is gifted with natural leader qualities and I so respect him as our team leader. He has demonstrated to us that he can keep us accountable to each other and to God. God`s given us a leader that follows after God`s heart. Erin is so genuine and has the ability to strike a conversation with anyone in a gentle, engaging way. It`s like she knows when to engage and when not to, a sense of discernment. Together, they are a great model to us singles for what a happy marriage in Christ looks like.
David has a joy that is truly a gift from the Spirit and I can`t appreciate him enough for that. He has an innocence to him from this joy that brings out the goodness of everyone that is around him. His joy is so contagious and you would know what i mean if you are around him. His zeal for the Lord and Holy Spirit is infectious and I can`t wait to learn from him in the area of being led by the Holy Spirit.
Drea has a beautiful soul and her energy draws people to her naturally. I appreciate her ability to talk to anyone with depth and care, it is a skill that I wish I have but I`m so thankful that in our team, she has this skill for when we meet new people. She has a strong connection with the Lord and has so much love for everytone she meets.
Grant: I sense that Grant is a gentle and humble soul to the core. He`s the type of person that would do amazing good deeds but you would likely never know about it bc that`s just the humble guy that he is, but if it is to boast in the Lord, he will not be silent. He is also gifted with the creativity and musical talent to film and capture many of our moments and put it together in video and post it before we even have a chance to digest the moment. He`s already served our team in so many capacities and we haven`t even began the race yet. I know I will learn a LOT from his humility and putting others before himself.
April has a total pure and youthful heart! Her purity and innocence is hard to find in people and it just exudes out of her every pore. She has the balanced energy of our team, so full of spunky energy that makes everyone smile when she smiles but yet at the same time, she has a serious faith with serious thoughts in her journey with the Lord. In days when I feel stuck in a funk, I know i will look to her for her spunk to get me out of my funk.
“And as for me and my team and family, we choose to serve the Lord.“
