I wanted to give you guys a better picture of where your support goes. I have to admit I stole most of this blog from a past racer but the details are still the same.

In order for Dustin and I to be able to go on The World Race, We will need to raise $30,000.

Where does the money go?

From jordanflemate.theworldrace.org

As a couple on the World Race, $30,000 is broken down by these categories…
  • Training Camp–$600
  • Field Support–$1,200
  • WR Development Program–$3,600
  • Administration Fees–$5,100
  • World Racer–$19,500
As you can see, 65% of the funds that we will be raising, go towards our expenses for the 11 months. Again, let me show you through a graph what this will look like.

Our budget is broken down into these categories…
  • Intercontinental Travel–$8,775
  • Food–$2,535
  • Lodging–$3,705
  • Transportation–$2,145
  • Long Distance Travel & Misc. Supplies–$2,340
In addition to the expense of $30,000, We will need to purchase/have donated the following items:
  • Imunizations/medications
  • plane tickets to and from training camp and launch and end point of race
  • Race supplies including sleeping bags/backpacks/etc.
DEADLINES: As with most fundraising, there are deadlines that are set up by AIM that  we are required to meet. Here they are…
  • $7,000 – (2 weeks before Training Camp) In May 2013
  • $13,000 – (2 weeks prior to your trip) In July 2013
  • $22,000 – (End of 3 months on the field)October 2013
  • $31,000 –  (End of 6 months on the field)January 2014
As a reminder, this is what it looks like for two people to be sent on The World Race.  Our goal is to be 100% funded before we go on the trip in July, and we are soooo excited because we know God will somehow supply!

I just thought it would be nice to be able to show you where your money is going if you are supporting Dustin and I. 🙂
