When I think about the World Race, there is a big part of me that gets excited about the idea of going to 11 different countries and experiencing those cultures. Seeing how different people live and believe and how they function in their everyday lives. But that is only a small part of what I'm excited for about this opportunity. I'm really looking forward to, is how God is going to move during those 11 months.
I just keep picturing kids being swallowed up in love. Chasing them, playing games, braiding hair, and sharing how God sees them and what He has in store for their lives. I see women who are broken but though conversation are restored because of God's restorative power. I see us building wells and homes for the poor to show them God's kind of love. I just keep picturing God using small things to reach people's hearts and changing their lives. I just can't wait to see what God is going to do! I know we will be blessed by the people we meet. I know their stories will affect our hearts.
In the Bible it states in Mark 16:17-18 that "these sings will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." What gets me is that those signs are to follow those who believe in Jesus. Which means, 1- it is possible to do those things, 2- those signs are expected to be seen in believer's lives. I can't wait to see what God is going to do! It is not us doing the miracles and saving people, but God working through us to reach them. 🙂
I believe in healing. Sometimes my faith isn't where I want it at all times, but I definitely believe that God heals and wants peopled healed. I can't wait to grow and be stretched in my faith during the journey Dustin and I will be going on. 🙂
