I’m Joy McCarty. I’m a college grad (
Chicago) and have spent the last few months studying & traveling in
Europe (
Switzerland,
Italy and
Greece). My favorite place on the planet is southern
Africa (preferably
Sudan). In general, I’m pretty much always up to traveling anywhere for any reason… seems like the chance of a lifetime to travel everywhere for the best reason (the gospel!).
I get really excited about philosophy and theology (my field). I’m pretty obsessed with phenomenology at the moment… Husserl, Heidegger, a little existentialism here and there. I’m also very committed to health and nurturing my body through healthful eating and living. I love cycling, running, kickboxing, yoga, and teach modern dance. Like most people my age, I’m pretty glad that Jack Johnson, the Counting Crows, and Rachael Yamagata are alive and fabulous.
