Lately I’ve been reading..

I know, it sounds crazy. Me: reading. But it is something I am growing to love. The more I read, the more I learn.

If you know me, and know me well, than you know that I am quite an extrovert. I love talking. I rarely ever have my mouth open without the intention to speak.

I’ll say this now: This blog is for all the Men out there.

I’ve been reading a book called “Mansfields book of Manly Men” written by Stephen Mansfield. Let me tell you, this book is extraordinary. It truly tells how this upcoming generation is almost completely losing sight of what it means to be a real man, A Manly Man, and what we can do to fix it.

Just because you go to the gym, and have arms the size of my head, does not mean you are a real man. Just because you are almost more of an outdoorsman than Bear Grylls himself, does not make you a real man. Just because you drive a really nice car, or have a house that costed you 7 digits, does not make you a real man.

There is a level that modern men have stooped to. It’s embarrassing really.

He is so right to say that the newest generation of men is generally a let down. A man is not considered manly if he gets wasted at the bar.

Or if he leaves a wife & child,

Or if he breaks his vows and sleeps around for hollow love.

We as men need to realize that through out the years our society has changed, but that does not mean the standard for being a real man has.

What happened to being a gentleman? What happened to being a protector for your family? What happened to being an example for other young men to follow?

We need to follow the manliest man that ever lived.

Jesus of Nazareth. The Messiah.

He taught us men how to treat women, how to treat our brothers, how to treat our enemies.

This was a perfect man that modelled how we must live our lives,

To honour our parents,

To honour our spouses,

And to honour our God.

We need to really ask ourselves these two identical questions as Men:

Are we even close to being a real man?

Are we even close to being like Jesus?
