Have you ever stood on top of a mountain in the morning and looked down into a valley? Have you thought about how what you see is an example of God’s love? In my personal opinion it is pretty undeniable. Let me give you an example!
Where we are staying there is a prayer wall that we can climb up on top of and see down into the valley. When I am up early enough I try to get up there to see the sun do its work across the valley. If you get up there early enough you get to see the sun light up the entire valley. You see it come through and chase out the darkness. You see where this is going? There are moments when the valley is being lit that you see shadows try to creep back in over the light, but the sun always finds a way to relight them. Sometimes it may take a while, but the light always covers the darkness. It is cool to see as the light climbs down the mountain into the places you would assume would be hard to reach. As the morning moves on there is no point left untouched. If you are down in the valley you can only really see when the light reaches where you are. You do not have the vantage point of seeing all the darkness around you turns to light. Even though you cannot see it all the light still covers all!!!
Now think about that from a Godly, Jesus perspective! Jesus the Son stands on top of the mountain looking down at you and He sees where there is darkness in your life. He stands up there and all he wants to do is bring light into every place filled with darkness. Each and every day he stands with us and above us bringing light where there was not any. To the places we always assume that His light could not reach or redeem he turns to light. And just like the sun in the morning, the Son in the morning does it all with no work on our part. Along the way we will stumble and let shadows creep back in. The Son loves us so much that he comes through and covers them up so well you would assume light was always there. And just like in the valley we do not have the vantage point of seeing all the darkness around us as it turns to light. However, even though we cannot see it all, the light (the Son) still covers all!!
