So you are sitting in a down town square reading a good book when you see a family walk by. There is mother and father and three young boys. You notice they are walking around the square getting some family exercise. After some time of your continuing reading you see the family come back to the middle of the square where you are sitting. They all lay down in the grass. The father first then mother lays down in his arms. The the three little boys all lay down one-by-one next to them. The youngest to keep getting up vying for mom and dad's attention. The parents do not show any favoritism and play around tickling both kids and laughing. You can look at the three boys probably ranging from 7 to 11 feel very protected and cared for. There is no question of that! In your mind you are thinking this is no doubt what so many kids are missing in life. You see how important it is is to have both loving parents in the picture. If you were going to give an example of a good family this would definitely be it, no question!
Now I want you read back to this story only this time picture the mother as black and the father as white. Does it change the way you view the story? Or does it not change anything at all?
