Last night after I got off work I sat down with my laptop and some support letters preparing to send them out. Of course I also got on facebook because that is what people do. Everyone that is part of my squad is parto f a group on Facebook. Right when I got on my World Race group chat popped up with the thumbnails( small pictures) of the amazing people I will be living 11 months of my life. Say what you will about facebook changes but Mark Zuckerberg had no clue how huge group chat would be. I jumped into conversation starting with one of my squad mates letting us know that her Cancer scare had an answered prayer and the test came back negative. Praise God for that. Then for the next few hours we started having an amazing conversation about life. We were able to speak into each others lifes as well as through a little sarcasm each other's way.
Even though right now my squad mates right now are pictures on facebook until we have training camp in May I already feel so close with them. Matthew 18:20 says For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them. It is one of my favorite scriptures knowing that when I am with just a few people of God I am with him. I never thought that could apply to a facebook chat, but trust me when I say that when I was talking to the group of people God has put together for my trip I could feel his spirit in it. I know that God has something special for us together. We are getting the opportunity to share stories now with each that will prepare us to tell to others on the field. I am so thankful that God gave The World Race team discernment with putting our squad together.
