Hello all,

I thought I’d explain my self after my previous blogs ending… (not Mothers Day)

PSS: Today i was robbed… that makes twice on the
race. I’m more than ok but just wanted to share the story. Plus i know
that the Lord provides every time; He gives and takes away because He
knows and loves whats best for us. “

The boys name is
Clam. He’s about 17 but was hit by a motorcycle when he was 10 and has
never fully developed mentally since then. He has stolen from other
missionary teams, been beaten violently by the local police, and can’t
seem to shake the addictive nature toward cigarettes from the example
that his alcoholic dad sets.

But today He was found walking with
my wallet. Clam and I met last week when I went to visit his family on a
house visit for the ministry. The mom had been praying for God to help
her oldest son because he is always getting into trouble, beaten, and
yelled at for smoking. He gets manipulated by the older boys and told to
steal for them, but then when they get caught, he’s the one that get
the punishment since ‘he did it’.

Story has it that Clam was
walking home from the Children at Risk (C@Risk) center when he found a
younger boy ruffling through my wallet. When he noticed the picture on
my drivers license and saw that it was me he immediately took the wallet
and brought it back to the ‘church lady’ that lives next to his mothers
house. When she saw him with my wallet she yelled, “Hey! That’s not
yours!” took it and brought it back to the Children at Risk center where
she gave it to me and my unsuspecting eyes.

“How can i trust you? How can i love you?”

I took it as an opportunity to tell him a little more about Jesus 😉

With a translator…
Firstly Clam, thank you for bringing my wallet back
Secondly, i hope you can see that stealing hurts people
Even though I’ve only known you a short while you’re my friend
If you ever feel like you need to steal something know that God provides… It might not be everything you’re thinking about but it will be every thing that you need.
Trust God and be patient, because He loves you and will provide for you.
Can you do me a favor? … If you see the money can you bring it back to the C@Risk staff?
“Ok now give me a hug and lets go in before it really starts raining”

I didn’t make it… 🙂

“So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.”    Genesis 50:21

But
wouldn’t you know that God answered my prayers from earlier that
week… and the prayers of Clam’s mom by sending this opportunity and
letting me actually talk with him.
While I would have rather kept my
money, I’d also gladly have paid the $45 that went missing just to be
able to tell him some of the things I did.

Love Love,
Joshua
