Alright alright, before all of you leave comments about how good the hat looks, i’ll just say, my funny hat is more than just a way to get the ladies. Its also a story of God’s provision.
While i was in Peru i gave my only warm hat to a friend named Bryan. When the squad leaders told us that our mystery months in Eastern Europe would be lived out in the cold of Albania and Romania, i thought, “Shoot, i’ll need to buy a new hat”. But, something about me is that i don’t really like to spend money and especially not on me. This way i figure i’ll be privileged enough to spend the little money that i do have on the people that are around me. Basically that means all month of Albania i didn’t buy a hat but lived with it not being “too cold”. Believing the Lord would provide a hat for me i let the monthly budget go to other uses, like voluntarily getting stolen… (thats a story for another time)
Alright, fast forward to the even colder Romania, I really needed a hat, something warm that would cover my ears and look good if possible. ;)… Third day at the camp we live in we were clearing an old storage shed and throwing lots of stuff away. Suddenly, this hat lands at my feet… HOPE LANDS… Behind the dirt and little random poo pellets, i saw the hat that would keep me warm this whole month. I picked it up, dusted it off and exclaimed, “Man, The Lord Provides!”
Sometimes the gifts of our Lord look a little weird, maybe even a little dirty, or filled with something that stinks, but if we earnestly look to the Lord and through the Lords point-of-view, then we will see that even the last place you’ll expect will be where the Lord comes through.
Just be willing to look past some things that you didn’t anticipate. It’ll be worth it
Love you all,
Joshua
Keep looking upward
