Well guys WE did it!!! I am now officially FULLY FUNDED!!! I would like to take this time to give a big THANK YOU to everyone who has felt God tugging on their heart to give and acted in obedience. Your generous donations are making it possible for me to travel all across the globe, serving communities and individuals in need, reaching out to “the least of these” everywhere I go. Because of your actions, the Kingdom of God is advancing at an exponential and unstoppable rate. Each and every day I witness first hand the brokenness of this world but because of your support I can actually do something about it. God is using you to make a direct impact on the lives of the people I meet each month. Through these relationships, seeds are planted, roots are established, and Kingdom is built. I cannot express with words the amount of gratitude I have for all of you and the support you have given. You are such a big part of this mission and even something as simple as a $20 donation is such a big deal. I must say when I first signed up for the World Race I was really intimidated by the amount of money I needed to raise but throughout this entire fundraising process God has taught me that when He calls you to do something, He will provide. In Proverbs 16:9 it says, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” God placed in my heart the desire to serve around the world and using you, he established my steps along the way.
I have also learned a great deal about trust through all of this. I learned that even when you are backed into a corner and faced with the impossible, God will show up, in His timing of course, and do the impossible. The thing is though, He asks for our participation as well. When Moses was leading the Israelites through the desert and Pharaoh’s army was charging towards them and escape seemed impossible, God showed up and made the impossible possible, but not without the participation of Moses. God called Moses to raise his staff and stretch out his hand over the sea to divide the water. (Exodus 14:16) Yes God performed this miracle but it was through the participation of Moses that it became a reality. God called me to this mission, to participate and put forth effort to raise these funds and through your participation as well, God performed a miracle and made the impossible possible. I now know and trust in my heart that when God calls me to do something, He will establish my steps and provide for my every need each step of the way.
The battle isn’t over though and there are still funds to be raised!!!
As of right now I do not have enough personal funds to get me through the last 3 months of the race. By the end of this month I will have exhausted all of my personal funds for the race and will not have any money going into Africa. I will be celebrating my birthday in Botswana on April 23rd and thought this would be an incredible opportunity for all of my supporters to give a little more and support me in another way. My goal is to raise $500 from now until my birthday but seeing as I will not have any money come next month, the sooner I can raise these funds the better. This money will be used to purchase food, to restock all of my toiletries, medicines, and to replace some clothing items that have perished over the past 8 months. This money will also go towards any medical expenses that I may need along the way, God willing I won’t. It will also be used to go on some of the incredible once in a lifetime adventures that I may have an opportunity to participate in over in Africa such as a birthday safari in Botswana or swimming with sharks in South Africa or maybe even bungee jump off the tallest bungee jumping point in the world.
