“Peculiar travel suggestions are dancing lessons from God.” -Kurt Vonnegut
In just 6 months I begin my dancing Lessons in Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Thailand, Cambodia, Japan, Malaysia, Swaziland, Botswana, and South Africa. There is no word in the English Dictionary, believe me I’ve looked, that can accurately describe how I feel right now. Excited, anxious, joyous, worried, these words simply do not do justice. What I do know is that God has been very clear with me, almost frighteningly clear, that this is not only what he wants, but needs me to do.
I am trying to distance myself from making any profound expectations for this journey seeing as I know that I am going to be blown away by whatever realities, good or bad, God may create for my teammates and I. And Although this will be in many perspectives a long journey, I see it as the first of many journeys to come, God willing of course. The one expectation I do have is this, to be radically transformed by God into the person he has always intended me to be from the start. To be thrown out of my comfort zone and into his vast creation, sharing his unfailing love with his people.
So here I am, only months away from the start of the World Race, my dancing lessons with God, and it is with great elation that I begin to witness the way God has chosen to utilize my life and the lives of all of those who will embark on this journey alongside me. So I come asking, no begging for your support, for this adventure is simply impossible without it. Donations are great and are what will eventually get me on the field, but what may be even more important than money is your prayers and the weight that they carry. I ask that you keep my future teammates and I in the back of your hearts and minds going into this new year and to offer your support as I begin my dancing lessons with God.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and may God bless you all in this life and the glorious life to come. Amen.
