Let me tell you what has happened this month! As I have been here doing ministry, I also want to be as transparent as I can with you all on what God has been doing with me the last month. As you know from my last blog, I’ve been working with CSM (Cambodia Slum Ministry) with kids aged preschoolers to high schoolers. In that being said, I really appreciate teachers more than ever.
Kids will be kids anywhere in the world. They love to act silly, they love high fives all the time, and they love to be loud! Shout out to pre-school teachers! You guys are the real MVP’S. I’m just playing, I love kids, but it was a struggle with the language barrier. We did our best with the ABC and counting in English every morning. The other classes were a little bit easier, because of their age and they understood some English. We did a lot of lessons planning and loving on the kids in the slums.
Oh yeah, I also want to introduce my team! I don’t think I’ve done that in any of my blogs. We have Joshua Owen from Arkansas, Michaela Hennagir from Iowa, John Sapp from Florida, Hanna Erickson from Minnesota, and Bliz Ballesteros from Philadelphia. God has blessed me with some amazing people, who are all different in so many ways, with different perspectives ,personalities, and different cultures.
With that kind of diversity you would think living together would be rough, but we do have one thing in common, and that’s a deeper intimacy with our Father. It makes us closer than you know. That common goal binds us to God’s beautiful design. I feel like I’ve known them forever but it’s been a month with these guys. It has definitely been a safe place to share the real me, instead of the fake mask that I would put on the first time I meet someone. I also got blessed with a camera I will be vlogging soon!
