Hello from South Africa!
This month men of G Squad are doing ministry and living life together for MANistry month. We are living in the township of Oceanview. Oceanview is the perfect place for the men of our squad to serve because there are so many kids are lacking male role models in their lives. Our ministry this month is to build friendships with the kids this month while modeling what it means to be Godly men.
We spend our days playing soccer and other games with the kids. Each morning, we walk around the neighborhood and visit with people, often praying with them. Last weekend, we took the kids on a weekend trip and enjoyed swimming and a couple BBQ’s (or as they call it in South Africa, a Braai). Yesterday, a few of them joined us as we hiked Cape Point.
My prayer at the beginning of the month is that God would give me His eyes for the people here. I’m grateful to say that He has done that, as it has revealed so much to me this month. From the outside, the kids we are with this month are rough around the edges. But after just investing a little time in their lives, each of us have seen the ways God is working in them and their families.
