Cambodia welcomed me a little over two weeks ago with it’s beautiful landscape, sunny skies, and great people. Team Fearless Love is living in Pouk Village this month, which is a short tuk tuk ride from Siem Reap. We are staying at the school we are serving this month. Village life has been wonderful change of pace and each day has been an exciting one.

Here is what a day could look like for me this month…

5:30 am: Alarm goes off as the sun begins to rise
5:40: Get out of bed, prepare for day
5:50: Do chores around the school (I sweep the paths, pick up garbage, and clean the toilet)
6:00: Devotions, Bible Reading, Praying
6:45: Run through rice fields with Kevin and Tressa
7:35: Return to the school, clean up
8:00: Read a bit more, meet with teammates to pray
8:15: Eat breakfast as a team, which may consist of oatmeal, cornflakes, fruit, toast, and occasionally eggs
8:40: Pray as a team, encourage one another before ministry begins
9:00: Meet with our contact and ask him how we can help around the school. We have cut grass, pulled weeds, and even filled in some potholes on a village road.
11:45: Clean up for lunch
12:00: Enjoy a lunch of chicken, vegetables, and rice with the team and the teachers at the school
12:30: Relax
1:00: Ride bikes to a village to do a Bible study with their chief
1:30: Arrive at village
1:45: Bible study begins. Tressa and Melody have shared messages with the chief and his friends this month
2:45: Leave for Pouk
3:15: Arrive at the school. Some of us head straight to teach our classes, others (including myself) get a bit of a breather before our classes begin.
4:00: Meet with Alyssa and Kevin to plan for the advanced English class
5:00: Teach an intermediate English course with Tressa
6:00: Teach an advanced English course with Alyssa
7:00: Enjoy dinner with team and teachers from the school
7:30: Help with dishes, cleaning the kitchen, etc.
8:00: Team time to talk about our day and encourage each other. Laugh a lot.
8:30: I go outside and look at the stars, spending time in prayer and thinking about how awesome our God is.
9:30: Bed time!

As you can see, our days can be quite busy this month. The English courses have been one of my favorite ministries we have done so far on the Race. I tutored English students in Upper Iowa University’s ESL program during my college years and I have realized just how much I loved and missed working with students from different cultures. I’m grateful for the opportunity to teach English as one of the many ways we are showing the world Christ’s love over this 11 months.

Support Raising Update:

Thank you to everyone who has supported this ministry financially. I’m excited to announce that I am nearly 80% funded and I only need to raise $3,000 more to be fully funded by my January 1st deadline. Would you consider partnering with me financially as we come closer to completely funding my World Race? Financial gifts of all shapes and sizes are welcome by clicking the “Support Me!” link on the left side of this page. Gifts can also be sent to Hope Wesleyan Church, 505 4th Avenue NE, Independence, Iowa 50644. Please write “Joshua Beebe” in the memo line. Thank you!
