Hello from Thailand!

Month 3 of The World Race has gone by quickly so far and it is hard to believe G Squad has less than 2 weeks left in Thailand. This month, Team Fearless Love has partnered with Eagles Rest Foundation in Phang Nga, which is in southern Thailand.

We have been grateful for our time at Eagles Rest so far. This foundation is staffed by a family with a heart for pastors and missionaries, especially those from third world countries. Each year, they take in several pastors and missionaries and give them a place to find rest. Often, this is the only break these people receive in 30 years or more.

For the last week, we have been blessed by the company of a Filipino couple that are visiting Thailand and Eagles Rest Foundation to take a break from their ministry in The Philippines. The pastor and his wife are enjoying their time here. Whether through conversation at dinner, worship sessions, or riding elephants through the jungle, our team has enjoyed every minute with this wonderful couple.

Last night, we were excited to take on a challenge that Eagles Rest often faces – preparing an evening for the couple. Team Fearless Love teamed up to plan and prepare a meal, offer a time of worship through music, and foster conversation with the couple throughout the night.

As we cleaned up after our guests left for the evening, we all agreed it was a successful night. I thought about the great job Alyssa did to find songs that not only we know, but songs that the couple would know as well. I also thought about how great the food turned out, and felt great knowing that I can improve my cooking skills while serving others (mom, I’m not quite to your level in this department, yet!).

Above all, I reflected on the fellowship we had with this couple and how the day was filled with much more than chicken, rice, and a few songs. We were doing life with each other all day long. Aleisa and I had great conversation as we prepared the meal. The others on the team laughed as they enjoyed cleaning the guest house before our guests arrived. Our meal with the couple was filled with great conversation about Filipino culture as well as American culture. As some of us remained at the table with the couple, the others washed dishes in the kitchen continuing conversations of their own. To wrap up the evening, we each shared about The World Race and our hearts for the world and for the Lord.

On The World Race, I have continued to see the importance of conversation with others. There are so many great ways that we can connect with each other by simply living out our daily lives. I’m excited to experience more of this on The Race!

Thank you so much for all your prayers and support! Please continue to pray for health, our ministry here, and for our relationships with Christ and each other. Our team has experienced so much growth this month and it is great to know that we have so many people cheering for us at home.

If you would like to support my World Race financially or if you would like to give another gift, feel free to click the “Support Me” link on the right side of this page. Thanks to all of you, nearly $12,500 has been raised and now only $3,800 remains until my World Race is fully funded!
