I learned about the World Race in sort of a strange way. While on a local mission trip to Chattanooga with my church's High School Youth Group, (of which I am a leader) a guy came and spoke to us. He told us about a girl he knew, who had gone on this amazing trip around the world to 11 countries in 11 months, carrying nothing but a backpack with her. That got me interested. And then, just two days later, after I had gotten home and was talking to my sister, she told me of a friend of hers who had gone on a trip to 11 countries in 11 months! Well, I had to ask her what the trip was called, and she said "The World Race!". Now I was very interested. So I looked up Adventures In Missions online and after much prayer and consideration, decided to go through the application process. And, not a month later, was officially invited to go on the trip beginning in January! I was so excited when the confirmation was made.
I've always wanted to be able to backpack around the world, but I had never been able to find the right venue for it. This is a door that God opened for me with his own hand. He led those particular people to me just so I could hear about this trip and become interested. And now, I'm going to be able to go.
This opportunity is a great one. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me over the next year!
