Dear Family and Friends,

As I write this letter, I think of all of you and what a role you’ve played in my life. Whether you were my shoulder to cry on, a role model, or simply an inspiration. These are all roles I hope to one day be for every one of you and for many more, but all of this only comes with what God has planned. Over the past few years, God has given me a new perspective on the blessings in my life through my hardships, the needs of those around the world, and my purpose in His kingdom. I am thrilled to share with you that I am faithfully following His direction to go and to demonstrate His love to the Nations. This mission trip is not affiliated with my Fashion career, but I feel it will open doors in the future to combine my passion for clothing and helping those in need by giving back. I expect my faith to be challenged and grow deeper in Christ by sharing His love and learning about Him through others. My hope is to become more confident in not only my faith but in myself.

I am joining an organization called Adventures in Missions (AIM). They are an interdenominational Christian based, non-profit organization that has been in operation since 1989. On this World Race mission I will be going to 11 countries in 11 months starting January 2013, those of which include; China, Philippines, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Albania, Romania, India, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. I will be traveling with a squad of 70 people. We will then break down into smaller teams of 10 people; teaching, mentoring and helping devastated areas recover spiritually and physically. Our mission will include rebuilding homes and churches, working in orphanages, counseling women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, as well as spreading the word of the Lord.

As they say, it truly takes a village to raise a child. I think I've finally been challenged to pursuit something that I can't do alone. I want to go on this race representing the people who have made me who I am. I want to go on behalf of my village.  I have shared milestones in my life with each of you and I want to share this one with you as well. So I'm asking you, my friends… my family, to help me make this a reality.

The hard part is that I need to raise $15,500 to go on this trip. That will pay for all of my expenses, including travel, food, lodging, everything, but is still a daunting amount of money for me to raise. It does not include personal spending money, medical insurance [required], and vaccinations. With the exception of personal spending money, I am permitted to raise additional funds to cover these costs. Your donation may be given as a one-time or a monthly donation.

Please help support this charitable cause so I may bring hope to those all over the world who are less fortunate and do not have the resources to change the situations they are in.

I have enclosed a response card, inviting you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to Adventures in Missions and return the response card with your donation to Adventures in Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA, 30353-4470. The response card will provide AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your donation. If you prefer to make your donation online, you may do so my visiting my blog site at: jordynnhaskins.theworldrace.org. Click the “Support Me” link in the upper left side of the page and complete your donation as instructed. Adventures in Missions are a 501(c) (3), non-profit organization and a long-time member of the ECFA. Your donations are tax-deductible based on the polices and principles at www.worldrace.org/policies.

Either way, your love, support and prayers would mean the absolute world to me. I love you all so much. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for being in my life.

Xoxo,

Jordynn
