Hitting the half way point on my Race has been a major shock to the system! I catch myself looking back and reflecting on all the things I’ve learned, and wondering where Jesus has yet to take me.
Here’s some of the realizations that have changed my life over the past few months:
1. Joy really is a choice.
2. Jesus wants to walk WITH you, hand in hand, wherever you go.
3. When something goes wrong, it’s just an opportunity to trust in the Lord.

4. Being weak, tired, grumpy, or depressed does not mean you are a bad Christian.
5. There is no amount of Bible reading, devotional times, or formulaic prayers that can equate to a true, loving, intimate relationship with Abba Father.
6. You do not have to DO anything to please God, you just have to love Him. The rest will follow.
7. It is okay to sit in your crap for a bit. Sometimes, life just sucks. Don’t bury it, don’t push it away, but seek the Lord in the midst of it.
8. Listening is loving. There is nothing more worthwhile and life giving than actually hearing someone. Listen to not only their words but the heart behind them.
9. You are stronger than you think. If you feel like you can’t go any further, put your head down and focus on one step at a time. Lean on Jesus, and watch yourself climb mountains.
10. Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!!!
11. Jesus is fun. He’s someone you can spend time with, laugh with, and dance with! Don’t forget to have fun with Him.
The Race is a journey. Every day is a chance for growth and deeper intimacy with the Lord. It’s not an easy journey, but it is always worth it.
