Jeff got us tickets to see the Philippines College Basketball Final Four last night. His son is he starting forward, and tore it up last night! His team won huge over their opponent, Adamson. The game took place in the Araneta Coliseum, where the world famous “Thrilla in Manila” fight between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier took place almost 35 years ago to the day! They still have a huge banner hanging with the catch phrase printed in huge letters. We had a blast at the game. The entirety of the game (including when the ball is in play), both teams’ bands take turns going back and forth banging on 9 huge bass drums and 10 snare drums. That place was LOUD! I think it’s a tradition we should bring back to the states. I could just imagine Cameron Stadium with 38 drums being played! We’re going to the championship games (best out of 3) Saturday. We briefed with Jeff this morning about various ministries this month, and we’ll start them tomorrow. I went to bed last night with what I am now sure is Strep Throat. I started an antibiotic last night, so pray I’ll get better very quickly. I’m not feeling very well today, and need a day or so to rest and get rid of this junk. On a positive note, I’ve lost 10 pounds in my first 9 days, and that’s by eating wonderful hot meals! I guess when you sweat 23 hours a day you are bound to shed some weight. I hope you are all doing well. Love you all!
