What We Learned From Week Three
1. Team pictures in a tree are NEVER a good idea!
My teammate Lindsay took a ten foot fall, and some how landed straight on Tim. It looked like synchronized diving from my point of view. To top it off, after Lindsay got off of Tim he yelled, “I Saved Her!”
2. I have found the BEST way to work on your vertical is to not be paying attention when you open the curtain to the outhouse.
Sometimes chickens are in there, and when the curtain is moved they dart right out between your legs.
3. NEVER believe someone when they say they have a pinata for you.
Our Teammate Elizabeth had a birthday yesterday. We did a bunch of stuff to celebrate, but the best part was when we blindfolded her at the house. We then helped her walk to the middle of town to this cement parking lot area, and had her start swinging at this pinata that didn’t exist. (THE VIDEO IS HILARIOUS!) After a couple minutes we all left and watched her from a distance when she finally realized there was no pinata and started to run after us….SHE BIT IT! She now knows tip number 4.
4. Remove a blindfold before you run.
5. Niagra Falls is a possible consequence.
Pastor had a tarp set up over our eating area and part of his roof (why it was on top of the roof I have no idea). Well last night we had a extreme rain storm and the tarp began to fill with water. We heard some popping and ran outside. The tarp was collapsing the roof so Jory went out and sliced it with a knife……….We then experienced the Niagra falls outside the house as well as inside!
6. Bed Bugs are in! 5 of us have bites and they’re AWESOME! Be jealous!
7. A DO NOT DISTURB sign is a must needed commodity.
Some people are getting a little too close in the bathroom area. I say area because sometimes you just have to go outside!
8. GO BIG or GO HOME!
While the Guats stay close to shore or literally on the beach, we go 50-70 yards out! We couldn’t touch the bottom, I personally felt like shark bait, we were attempting to body surf on eight foot waves, and it was so fun.
9. Chew softly… there could be bones.
